What milestone seminars do I have to complete?
This is your chance to introduce your research project. This seminar is the “elevator pitch” of your project, a short, clear overview of your research aims and approach. It is a good opportunity to practice expressing your ideas clearly and concisely.
This is an assessable seminar where you will present your research proposal. This seminar along with your written research proposal is assessed by a panel of assessors appointed by your faculty.
This milestone confirms your readiness to proceed with your research.
The work in progress seminar is where you will present your initial findings and discuss how your project is progressing. This seminar is an opportunity to showcase what you’ve achieved so far, and outline your next steps.
Note: This seminar is only required to be completed by doctoral candidates. Requirements may vary by faculty, so check with your supervisor.
This is your final milestone before you submit your thesis for examination. This seminar is an opportunity to present the almost-complete version of your project and reflect on (and celebrate!) how far you and your proposal have come in the research process.
This seminar should be presented 3 -6 months before the thesis submission.
