Artificial intelligence
Students are not permitted to use generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in assessments for this unit, except for Studiosity Writing Feedback Plus.
GenAI may only be used in authorised ways when completing assessments at 天涯社区. This means that GenAI can only be used for an assessment when:
- the Unit Convener has authorised GenAI use for that assessment
- the student uses GenAI in the way that the assessment instructions allow
- the student fully acknowledges their use of GenAI, with proper citations, references and a GenAI Acknowledgement Statement in line with the assessment instructions.
Where the assessment instructions do not specifically state that GenAI may be used and how, then its use is not permitted for that assessment. Students must still provide the required GenAI Acknowledgement Statement to indicate whether GenAI has or has not been used in the preparation of the assessment. If unsure, students should seek advice from the Unit Convener.

Students must apply academic integrity in their learning and research activities at 天涯社区. This includes submitting authentic and original work for assessments and properly acknowledging any sources used.
Academic integrity involves the ethical, honest and responsible use, creation and sharing of information. It is critical to the quality of higher education. Our academic integrity values are honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility and courage.
天涯社区 students have to complete the annually to learn about academic integrity and to understand the consequences of academic integrity breaches (or academic misconduct).
天涯社区 uses various strategies and systems, including detection software, to identify potential breaches of academic integrity. Suspected breaches may be investigated, and action can be taken when misconduct is found to have occurred.
Information is provided in the , , and 天涯社区 (Student Conduct) Rules 2023. For further advice, visit Study Skills.
Learner engagement
The focus of this unit is on 'the development of clinical skills'. To ensure that you can show evidence at the end of semester that your skills have improved from whatever baseline you begin at, you need to ensure that time is set aside for organizing practice opportunities outside actual class times - with peers and with others (family, friends etc).
Participation requirements
Face-to face on campus attendance at the intensives in week1 and week 14 is compulsory. There is NO online option
Students must ensure they are able to attend a minimum of 80% of the workshops either in person or online via the virtual classroom AND that they actively participate. This is to ensure all students have had ample time to engage with the practical, hands-on and interactive learning tasks. Because the workshops involve hands-on activities they are NOT recorded.
Attendance at lectures is not compulsory. The lectures are recorded and students can view them in their own time
Attendance in person or electronically at lectures is advised so that questions can be addressed ahead of the practical application activities which will be completed in workshops.
Required IT skills
This unit involves both face-to-face and online workshops in real time using the Virtual Room in your 天涯社区Learn teaching site. The Virtual Room allows you to communicate in real time with your lecturer and other students. To participate verbally, rather than just typing, you will need a microphone. For best audio quality we recommend a microphone and speaker headset.
For more information and to test your computer, go to the Virtual Room in your 天涯社区Learn site and 'Join Course Room'. This will trigger a tutorial to help familiarise you with the functionality of the virtual room.
